This surface returns records, ranked, with the passages that bear on your question and the citations behind them. Composition is not available on this instance, so it is writing nothing of its own.

How this answers

Two rankings are computed and fused. One finds records that mean what your question means; the other finds records that say what your question says. Either alone has a known blind spot — an embedding misses an exact proper noun, a keyword misses a paraphrase — so the archive runs both and fuses them by rank.

This archive is not writing answers today. It searches the records it holds and returns them to you, ranked, with the passages that bear on your question and the citation behind each one. Every word you read is a source's, not a model's.

Machine callers: /ask.json?q=… returns the same answer and the same citations.
